My thoughts?
My first year of teaching is filled with memories I will treasure forever. I came across 24 students who became a significant part of my teaching career and life. These children have challenged me to work harder and made me always ask myself how I could be a part of their life, like how they are a part of mine. Creating positive relationships and getting to know them was the answer.
As a university students, my professors always asked us, 'Why are you in this profession? What do you want to achieve someday when you have your classroom'? From then on, I knew I wanted to become a teacher that could make a difference inside and outside the classroom. With my current students, I always try to ask them about their lives and always take the time to ask how they are doing. Asking these questions was my way of showing that I care. Taking the time to ask them creates a bond that'll last forever. Sometimes, I step back and look at my class picture. I feel so ecstatic and fortunate because I get to hang out with 24 kids that bring so much joy and energy to our everyday learning. I always find the days challenging and tiring. A wise man told me always to try to find the positive in everything I do. From then on, this message is something I would like to impart to my kids. Failure is not a reason to stop. Failing gets us closer to success.
