My definition of Teacher Identity
According to escholarship.org, "Teacher identity is defined as the beliefs, values and commitments an individual holds toward being a teacher (a distinct form another professional and being a particular type of teacher. Having a solid teacher identity is necessary to have inside the classroom. It defines you, your teaching philosophy, and how you treat your students. For myself, I want to be remembered as a teacher who made a difference and helped students inside and outside the classroom. My teaching philosophy is catered towards the students. I want to create positive and professional relationships with the students
to strengthen classroom engagement and help students reach their full potential.
I want my students to feel comfortable and be open to talking about anything in the future. I believe that having small conversations about their favorite sports teams, favorite food, or what they did during the weekend can make a difference in their day. Showing interest and letting them know that you are there for them is essential to help build a positive teacher identity. Teacher Identity is what defined us

Why is teacher identity important?
According to researchgate.net, " Teacher identity has been widely regarded as an important factor that influences the way teachers view themselves and, to a large extent, how they interact with students. This quotation shows that teacher identity is very significant because it helps us interact with our future students. It is necessary to have a positive teacher identity because we are their 'role models' inside the classroom to our students. Our job is to inspire them to learn new information and remind them to be kind towards one another. Teacher identity does affect the classroom environment because the teacher sets the tone and culture of the classroom based on their values, attitudes, and belief systems. Having a positive identity can make a big difference in a child's life. Providing them someone to look up to will make it easier for them to learn a topic.
